Laboratory Manager/postdoctoral scientist:
22nd Century, a growing Buffalo-based plant biotechnology company is seeking a Laboratory Manager/postdoctoral scientist to help run its newly formed plant molecular biology laboratory. This position will work to develop new products based on the manipulation of plant secondary metabolism in tobacco and cannabis. The cutting edge research is focused on advancing research in plant biology and medical science.
This position will play a crucial role in establishing the Company’s new laboratories. He/she will be a scientist with several years of plant molecular biology postdoctoral experience and will be capable of working independently on a day-to-day basis. The researcher will report directly to the Vice President for Plant Biotechnology, who will direct the research. The ideal candidate will have wet lab experience with: 1) plant gene regulation (including transcription factors and promoter technology), 2) plant transformation, 3) yeast one- and two-hybrid technologies, 4) and transcriptome analysis. Previous experience in launching new projects and with bioinformatics (including the handling of large -omics data sets) is an advantage.

Applicants require a Ph.D in plant molecular biology or similar and postdoctoral experience.
Laboratory Technician:
This position is a hands-on research position. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with plant gene regulation, plant transformation, yeast one- and two-hybrid technologies, bioinformatics, and transcriptome analysis.
